What's New in the 2025 Discovery?
The Discovery is a carryover model. It remains mostly unchanged from your favorite 2024 model year design, but it still has some unique features for our Chantilly shoppers.
Discovery Performance
Two engine options are available for the Discovery based on the trim level. The base engine is a turbocharged four-cylinder that outputs 296 horsepower, and the other powertrain is a turbocharged inline six-cylinder with a mild hybrid system outputting 355 hp. All-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic are standard across the board.
Discovery Fuel Economy
According to the EPA, Fairfax drivers who purchase the turbocharged four-cylinder model will receive an estimated 19 mpg in the city and 22 mpg on the highway. While the hybridized six-cylinder powertrain offers an estimated 18 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway.
2025 Discovery Trims
The 2025 Discovery is offered in four trim levels: S, R-Dynamic S, R-Dynamic HSE, and the Metropolitan Edition.
S: The base S trim comes with the four-cylinder engine called the P300. It also has features such as 20-inch wheels, a panoramic glass roof, a 13-speaker Meridian audio system, and a surround-view camera system.
R-Dynamic S: The S R-Dynamic has several styling differences compared to the base S, but its standard and optional features are pretty much the same. This trim is also available with the 355-hp turbocharged six-cylinder engine (P360).
R-Dynamic HSE: The R-Dynamic HSE trim comes standard with the 355-hp six-cylinder engine. In addition to the S' features and R-Dynamic S' styling upgrades, the HSE offers 22-inch wheels, a digital instrument cluster, and heated front and rear seats.
Metropolitan Edition: As the top-level trim, the Metropolitan builds off of the R-Dynamic HSE and adds a front sunroof and a rear panoramic glass roof, heated third-row seats, a head-up display, and power-folding second-and third-row seats.
Discovery Interior
The Discovery's cabin is comprised of upscale materials, giving the interior a posh design. Luxury features are prevalent throughout, and the quality and comfort only increase with each trim. If a luxurious cabin wasn't impressive enough, the Discovery offers a rather accommodating cargo space to hold up to 29 carry-on bags.
Discovery Technology Features
Standard on all Discovery models is Land Rover's Pivi Pro infotainment system. The system features an 11.4-inch touchscreen display, an onboard Wi-Fi hotspot, a 4G LTE data connection, and real-time traffic and weather updates. Additionally, the Discovery also comes standard with technology like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability, a wireless smartphone charging pad, a 12.3-inch digital gauge display, and a full-color head-up display.
Discovery Safety Features
In every Discovery, several driver-assistance features are standard. But the more advanced tech is only available by upgrading to an optional package. These standard features include a 360-degree exterior camera system that also provides a view of what is directly under the front end of the Discovery, automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection, and adaptive cruise control.
